About IPL
This concept involves the controlled delivery of intense pulses of light that are absorbed by the pigmented areas of hair follicles. The absorbed light energy converts into heat, which effectively targets and damages the follicle’s ability to regrow hair. IPL is safe for all skin types and all hair types can be treated. It can even be used on tanned skin. I recommend however that you are not actively tanning at the time of your treatment. Blonder, lighter hairs are more difficult to treat and may need more treatments but an area can be test treated prior if needed to ensure the treatment is suitable.

Most people vary in the number of treatments required; this does depend on where their hair cycles are when we first start but usually most people need 6 to 12 treatments. Some clients have had 70% loss after just 5 sessions.
Hair growth occurs in 4 stages: Early Anagen (early hair growth), Anagen (active hair growth), Catagen (regression) and Telogen (resting, not growing). Laser hair removal only affects the Anagen stage (actively growing hair). Therefore, approximately twenty-five-percent of hair is removed with each treatment. A few treatments are therefore required for the treatment area to be hair free. For best results, on average we recommend 6 to 12 treatments. This will allow hairs to be disabled effectively during the active growth phase.
